Installation

No special installation is necessary for each platform. The supplied archive can be extracted, and the cputil binary executed immediately. Installation location and method is entirely che choice of the server administrator.

If a system-wide install is required, then the suggested method is:

• extract the archive for your required OS and architecture to a system wide location. For example on Linux, this may be /opt/star/cputil
• Add the extracted folder to your PATH variable, to make cputil accessible to scripts, or place a symbolic link somewhere in a PATH accessible folder (i.e /usr/local/bin) to your cputil binary.

The folder in which cputil is extracted does not need to be writable.
